The car was bought in September 1997 and is a MY97 E36 M3, 4-door, Estoril Blue, with light grey interior, 5-speed manual. * ODO: approximately 53,000. Car was only used for 2 years as a commuter and a short commute at that. Mostly driving family SUV since 2001, hence extremely low mileage. * Transmission: 5-speed manual * Tires: Michelin PS/2 sport, installed all 4 new late March 2007. They have less than 1,000 miles on them * Mods: none * Options: - 6 CD changer in trunk, with extra cassette - On Board Computer (OBC) with fuel consumption, range, etc. - Leather sports seats (not the super version, whatever they're named) - Sun/moon roof with tilt or slide - Slight tint strip on top of windshield - Full size spare - No front plate mounting holes (I never had it on in 10 years and never had a problem) * Extras: - I have a brand new set of matching floor mats for you - Dog protection transport rear seat cover/system - Tires are less than 1,000 miles old * Maintenance: Always serviced (on time, none skipped) by authorized BMW dealer (initially Peter Pan in San Mateo, later Allison in Mountain View, now BMW of Mountain View). Any BMW dealer should be able to pull the maintenance records. Probably 2-3K miles away from brake job. * Additional maintenance: Tire replacement, balancing and alignment always performed at Dinan in Mountain View. They also did some other preventative repairs, such as cracking shock-mount ball joints, and shock-mount rubber (these are known E36 problems). * Accidents/damage: - One incident in parking lot, open door vs. left front fender. Repaired at Autobahn Autobody in Mountain View, who did an excellent job. (Paid for by other party). - Right front fog light cracked, replaced - Rims have some curb rash, not repaired (it does not bother me enough) - Rear fender has UV damage in top clear layer (layer is slowly peeling off in small blisters) - Hood has 1 tiny chip, and 3 or 4 spots with some damage from acidic tree sap (slight fading of paint). Hardly visible at all, esp. after a good wax and shine. - Remember this car is 10 years old * Track: Never been on track * Usage: 2 years as a daily commuter on a 15 mile commute (1-way). All other use on short trips and some medium trips (<200 miles). Generally driven moderately, except on some "touring" outings where it was driven like an M3 should! Not used much at all in last 4 years (probably 2,500 to 3,500 per year: I work from home). * Registration/smog: Current as of this month, with smog check done last month, so it is still valid. Car has always passed smog on first test. I'll be looking to recover the amount ($220) from you. * Known problems with E36: - Rear shockmounts and ball joints fixed at Dinan (2x), most recently in March of 2007 so you should be in great shape. - Radiator cracks in plastic neck: yes, it broke about 2 years ago (and emptied the radiator, I had to be towed back on a flatbed). New radiator and thermostat. Instrument cluster temp gauge broken, and required replacement of whole cluster which also fixed somewhat dim backlighting in places. Side effect is odo reset to 0. - Sticking thermostat: once, repaired at MView - Door lock actuator passenger side replaced - Front windshield cowling cracked due to UV damage. Replaced 1996. Ditto with windshield rubber.
