Getting Started

Hopefully this site wasn't your first stop on making your orc so I will assume you have the no hair and all that blah. If you haven't then I highly suggest you stop right now and go to the shadowclan homepage and read about becoming an orc. This section is more for what are some of the starting things you should be doing with your orc. First off I suggest that you practice talking to other orcs, the more you do this the less trouble you will have when given orders from a Grunt. It is also a good idea to get to know the area. The Uzg (area the orcs claim) has a few places of interest north of the fort are the Huts of the clan, don't worry about those much at the time being because you want be friened to one till you are a grunt. Another place to be you should know about is the Makr Hut, in this place you can purchase armor weapons and other such items but there is another function to the makr hut that every gruntee should know about. The collecting of raw materials such as ignots leather feather and reagents can be droped off here, many of these things are lock down on the floor and even if you are not friened you can add to these piles. PLEASE DO. The makr's provide armor to the clan (and we go through lots). Even if you are a gruntee you can ask a makr if he is in the fort if he/she can make you an item (they usually have Bubhosh Makr Grunt as there title) don't be afraid to ask, and don't be angery if they turn you down, this can mean they don't have the materials to make what you want or they are busy doing something else. Another area of interest is the Undead Tower and clearing these are West of the orc fort (the heart shaped clearing) and is the home of our Allies the Undead (guild abb UND also the Unborn UNB). As you read more on this site more areas will be discussed.

Another smart thing to be doing on your first day as an orc is to know who the Grunts are (yes to some this may be a problem) any or with short cuts boots or long boots that are colored (green, red, or brown) are grunts. Listen to them they are in charge. More about listening to grunts and some grunt quirks is discussed in the "Living with grunts " section of the webpage.

As a gruntee of the clan you are a very important part of the structure of the clan, you help the clan in many ways.

1.You are a buffer for the humans when they attack (yes some call it cannon fodder... but you will die alot as a gruntee get use to it)

2. You collect materials for the clan (not a bad thing since you need to be doing this anyway to raise skills and stats.)

3. You provide valuable items that the clan needs (I highly suggest that you have one craft ability you can choose to drop it later when you are a grunt)

4. You "can" provide ground cover with Arrows (I most HIGHLY suggest that you have archery on your list of skills... the clan can never have too many archers)

5. You can become a grunt and keep the clan alive with fresh blood (You are the future! *gah* I sound like my father ...)

6. You can provide grunts with something to kill.... *blinks* nevermind....

Also you should register on the blah *burp* board on the shadowclan homepage and get involved with the postings just don't let it cut into your playing time.
